When you know someone on-line for a long period of time, you get an urge to finally meet them in person. A lot of people will make plans to hang out with one another, but rarely do the plans ever follow through. I've known Ali since I was a sophomore in high school. That's about 3 years longer then most of the people that I hang out with now.

We've played countless hours of StarCraft, CS, and many different yahoo games. For a while we talked about hanging out. Originally me and Doug were going to drive down to Chicago and meet up with Omar and Ali (brothers, for those who don't know) and the 4 of us would hang out. Like many other plans, that one fell through the floor as well.

Then I found out I had to take a trip to Chicago on fraternity business, so we planned a get together then. Omar had to work that night (even though I gave him a month's notice), so it was just going to be Ali and myself.

I was just about to walk into an important meeting when I got the phone call that Ali was on his way to the hotel. Needless to say, I skipped out on the meeting and went up to my room (well, the other guy's room, since we accidentally switched cards to get into the door). I got many ugly stares from the people running the events cause they knew I was skipping out on the meeting, but I didn't care.

When Ali finally got there, we just hung out in the other room till I could finally get a key to my room. There we just kinda chilled and watched tv for a bit, while talking about random shit. After that we walked around the hotel in circles for at least an hour. We ran into a party of milfs all dressed up like hookers. Once we found this, we sat down on a bench for a few and watched them all leave the bar. We then proceeded to follow them to the stairs, but we were too lazy to climb them ourselves, so we went looking around the hotel for a while longer. Ali had like 20 pictures to waste on his disposable camera, so we started taking random pictures of people. We got some weird looks while doing this, which made it even more fun.

The snow was coming down pretty hard that night, so Ali decided it would be best to leave before the roads got too bad. It was weird hanging out with someone you've known for a long time and had no idea what he looked like till he pulled up in his car. It was kinda shitty that we couldn't go out and do anything cause of my schedule and shitty weather, but it was definitely cool. We are already planning another visit this summer. We will see what happens this time. Here are the pictures:

I would have taken more pictures but I only had my Mom's digicam and that sucker is huge. I didn't want to carry it around the hotel.
